The only place where "success" comes before "work" is in the dictionary
-Vincent Lombardi

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to provide an environment that enables children in our community the opportunity to develop their physical, mental, and social skills that can empower them to succeed both on and off the field. We achieve our goal exclusively through football and cheerleading and offer a variety of programs throughout the year to meet our goals.

Core Values

It's often said, "You'll never lose when you're helping others win". The only way we can win is when we help each other.  In order for us to help each other win, we have created a list of attributes that help define and guide every action we take and every decision we make.  We win by holding ourselves and everyone at the NYFL accountable to foster the environment we seek for in our mission. Below is a list of our core values

  1. Teamwork above all: Emphasizing collaboration, unity, and the importance of working together towards a common goal, both on and off the field.
  2. Respect for Coaches, Teammates, and Opponents: Fostering an environment of mutual respect, where all players, coaches, and opponents are treated with kindness and dignity.
  3. Commitment to Growth: Encouraging continuous improvement, both in athletic performance and personal development, with a focus on effort, perseverance, and resilience.
  4. Positive Attitude and Sportsmanship: Promoting a mindset that celebrates hard work, handles adversity gracefully, and always plays with integrity.
  5. Inclusivity and Equal Opportunity: Creating an environment where all children, regardless of background or ability, feel welcome and are given a chance to participate and succeed.
  6. Parental and Community Involvement: Building strong relationships with families and the community to support and encourage players in every aspect of their journey.
  7. Prioritize Safety: Prioritizing the health and well-being of players, including injury prevention, proper training, and fostering a safe playing environment.
  8. Leadership and Accountability: Teaching players to take responsibility for their actions, both on the field and in life, while developing leadership skills that empower them to lead by example.
  9. Hard Work and Dedication: Instilling a strong work ethic in players, encouraging them to push their limits, embrace challenges, and understand the value of persistence and discipline.
  10. Fun and Enjoyment: Keeping the focus on the joy of playing the game, ensuring that young athletes have fun while learning and growing through the sport.
