SPRING FOOTBALL 2008

Spring 2008 Registration is NOW Closed

Welcome to the Nevada Youth Football League Spring 2008 season. We are now in our Sixith year for Spring Football.  Our age and weight chart is different in the Spring than the Fall season. We place 30 players and up to 15 cheerleaders on a team. All volunteers who work with children are required to go through a background check.  Each head coach must go through a NYFL certification seminar prior to working as a head coach with the NYFL.

Teams are divided by age and weight and by zip code.  The community is divided into 4 quadrants: Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, and Southeast.

Practice fields are requested by the NYFL and the Park and Recreation Dept. notifies us what fields will be available for the Spring season. All practice fields are subject to change by the Park and Recreation Department.  These changes are not in the control of the Nevada Youth Football League.

Is Spring Football for you?

Parents enroll their children to play Spring football for various reasons. Some players who really love the game desire to play football all year long. Others, use the Spring season to sharpen their skills and increase their playing time in the Fall. Some enjoy the physical activity and find this an excellent way of staying in shape all year round. Some are participating in the Spring season because they have graduated from the Nevada Youth Football League program and getting ready to enter High School level football. This will give them one last opportunity to participate in organized football that will help them prepare for high school level football.

While others enjoy the recognition football gives them at school. Regardless of the reason Spring football matches the excitement, intensity, and competition found in the Fall season.

Spring season features High School level of football which is not offered in our Fall Program. We have had an incredible response to this level of play. Participation for those in the Spring season will give added opportunities for competition on high school teams when they return to school in the Fall. The NYFL has carefully selected coaches to work on the high school level, many which have participated on high school and college level programs. You DO NOT need to be on a high school team in order to play high school level football in the Nevada Youth Football League. The Nevada Youth Football League is not aware of any infractions or restrictions for current high school players participating in the Spring season of the NYFL. All parents of high school athletes are responsible to check with Clark County School District with any concerns they have regarding player eligibility in the Clark County High School program as a result of playing with the Nevada Youth Football League.
